The EdStart Team
STAFF AND FOUNDERS
EdStart HK Division Head
Adam is the head of EdStart’s Hong Kong division, combining EdStart’s 12+ years of experience within UK schools and his local knowledge of teaching within Asia. As a former member of the EdStart UK team, Adam has gained first-hand experience of the huge impact the company has had within UK schools.
Head of Experiential Education
From starting in the UK, then diverse places such as European Alps and Pyrenees to Saudi Arabia and Oman and lately Hong Kong and Mainland China, Mike’s travels have been about exploring, developing and growing, for himself and the people he meets along the way. His background includes qualifications in IT, psychology, physiology, economics as well as a stint teaching. Recently (relatively!) Mike has been specialising in Emotional Intelligence and blending into Experiential Adventure. In his spare time, Mike enjoys spending time with his two young dogs and finding new ways to challenge himself.
Head of Martial Arts
Master Marshall Jen is the Head of Martial Arts at Edstart Hong Kong. With over a decade of teaching experience in Universities, International School and Dojangs, Marshall is experienced in teaching with an emphasis on discipline and exploration learning. Marshall started Taekwondo at the age of five and continued his journey in Martial Arts through his active engagement in Muay Thai, Kickboxing, and western Boxing. In his prime, he competed for Team Canada at the 2010 U.S. Open and the 2011 World Universiade Games. In 2017, the World Taekwondo Headquarters (Kukkiwon) presented him with a 4th Dan blackbelt.
Building a healthier generation through sport
“The most important things about Martial Arts is about how fast you can punch or how strong you can kick, it is about respect, humility, self-control, perseverance and honesty. Martial Arts trains the mind through the motions of the physical.”
